The types of exclusions mentioned herewith do not include the require information for the optimal function of our shop, such as contact information (name, email, address, phone etc).
2. Process
a. Online Orders
When an individual places an order through the website or if an order is placed during a consultation meeting (online, by phone or in person), depending on the needs of the buyer, a certain process must be followed by that individual as well as by THE BOOKBINDER.
I. The buyer acknowledges that he has chosen and validated that the service ordered and the corresponding rate reflect his understanding of the service that will be rendered, and that the amount selected for the service ordered will be charged to the means of payment indicated when placing his order. He acknowledges that he has submitted his mailing address, which will be the return address upon completion of the service, as well as that of the BOOKBINDER, as indicated in the confirmation of his order.
If certain information is uncertain or incomplete and has still not been validated when the package is received by THE BOOKBINDER, the service cannot begin, unless the buyer decides to omit certain elements that cause uncertainty (or other) for him. This is one of the reasons why we anticipate dialogue more before an order is placed by a buyer - as well as during the process, if necessary.
II. The buyer understands that they will need to properly, to the best of their ability, protect the package prior to handing it off to their carrier, and the buyer understands they will cover shipping charges for sending the package to THE BOOKBINDER.
III. Once received by THE BOOKBINDER, the requested service will begin.
IV. When the work is completed by THE BOOKBINDER, a package containing the ordered products or finished services is sent to the buyer's return address.
The buyer understands that LE RELIEUR will be fully responsible of covering any return shipping charges, following their completion of the ordered services.
V. No insurance coverage will be added to the return shipment.
LE RELIEUR and its affiliates will not be held liable nor responsible for any loss or damage of packages in-transit.
b. In-Person Orders
When an individual places an order in person with THE BOOKBINDER, a certain process must be followed by that individual as well as THE BOOKBINDER.
I. The buyer acknowledges that he has chosen and validated that the service ordered and the corresponding rate reflect his understanding of the service that will be rendered, and that the amount selected for the service ordered will be charged to the means of payment indicated when placing his order (cash or card, if via the website - accompanied by THE BOOKBINDER, as required). The buyer acknowledges that he has indicated his postal address, which will be the return address upon completion of the service, as well as that of the BOOKBINDER, as indicated in the confirmation of his order.
II. LE RELIEUR can accompany a buyer in their selection of an adequate service according to the buyer's needs, for example, during an online meeting, by phone, by email, or in-person.
Following the receipt of the package from the buyer, at THE BOOKBINDER, if certain information is uncertain or incomplete on the part of the buyer and requires further discussion before following the work by LE BINDRIER, the service cannot start (or continue), unless the buyer decides to omit certain elements that cause uncertainty, ambiguity (or otherwise) or to complete missing information, for example, if the buyer's address is invalid, in whole or in part.
For example, if a buyer changed their mind in regards to colors, or if a buyer would like to send additional pages to LE RELIEUR by mail while the project is midway, for example in the scope of bookmaking services, which is accepted ONLY under certain conditions, outlined in the following section 3a.
We encourage communication and dialog before any order is placed, or before any work has begun, along with discussing some specific elements even during a work is in progress, in order to help avoid any delay and to help ensure the rendered service aligns with the requirements and wishes of the buyer.
III. The buyer understands that they will need to properly, to the best of their ability, protect the package prior to handing it off to their carrier, and the buyer understands they will cover shipping charges for sending the package to THE BOOKBINDER.
IV. Once received by THE BOOKBINDER, the requested service will begin.
V. When a work performed by THE BOOKBINDER is finished, a communication is sent to the buyer in order that they may pickup their books or ordered services.
3. Adding elements to ongoing works
a. When a buyer requests to add additional pages by email or postal mail in hopes that THE BOOKBINDER prints them to include them in the aforementioned ongoing work, or in the scope of any other provided services, some conditions must be followed.
I. LE RELIEUR will accept no file or document sent if the goal of a buyer is for THE BOOKBINDER to print them and add them to upcoming or ongoing works - this also applies to individuals with no order.
II. LE RELIEUR will accept no additional book or document sent if the individual's goal is that THE BOOKBINDER add them to upcoming or ongoing works - this also applies to individuals with no order.
If a buyer wants to add additional books to an ongoing work that they ordered, they will need to make a new order specifying ONLY the correct number of additional volumes that they would like to be performed.
For example, if an existing order and/or ongoing work includes 4 books, and the buyer wants to add 2 books to that order, with the same specifications as the original order, the buyer would need to order the services from the shop and select the appropriate number of books, in this case, 2.
It is critical, in the event of the above, that the buyer communicates to THE BOOKBINDER their need, in order to help validate the details, to help avoid delays, and will help LE RELIEUR perform the desired work.
III. It is possible that the original order will be completed and sent back to the buyer BEFORE the additional books are received by THE BOOKBINDER. In this case, the original order will arrive separately as the additional books.
IV. LE RELIEUR reserves the right to decline or refund any submitted order.
V. LE RELIEUR requires an order for every service requested.
VI. LE RELIEUR will accept no package if an order was not submitted prior to LE RELIEUR's reception of it, and/or if the sender's name or address differs in part or in whole as the buyer's name or address for a given order. Such event will cause LE RELIEUR to return the package to the sender without any work done. Please refer to section 11, in regards to the loss or damage of packages.
VII. For any returning customer that would like additional services from THE BOOKBINDER, a new order must be placed.
4. General
a. Online Orders
We perform estimates of time for specific works on a case-by-case basis. The times of THE BOOKBINDER's workings may be affected by ongoing works, works that are on standby / to-do, as well as the type of service requested. Online Orders have additional delays due to the time it takes for the buyer to send their books, the work itself, and the time it takes for the books to be returned.
b. In-Person Orders
We perform estimates of time for specific works on a case-by-case basis. The times of THE BOOKBINDER's workings may be affected by ongoing works, works that are on standby / to-do, as well as the type of service requested. In-person orders do not include shipping delays.
c. Priorities
We prioritize works for ongoing orders, before proceeding to work on subsequent tasks on new orders. Many steps in the process of LE RELIEUR's bookbinding works allow for steps to cascade and overlap, allowing for several works to be performed at the same time, which increases production without the expense of quality, allows the worker to work on new orders, which in turn allows LE RELIEUR to provide reasonable delays to customers.
THE BOOKBINDER takes pride in offering quality services to their customers and prioritizes quality and excellence before speed of execution.
5. Open Hours
a. Our regular hours are as follows:
Monday 10am - 3pm
Tuesday 10am - 3pm
Wednesday 10am - 3pm
Thursday 10am - 3pm
Friday 10am - 3pm

Sunday closed
I. The above times are in the Eastern-Standard-Time (EST) timezone.
II. Specified open hours only apply to phone calls and book dropoffs.
III. Work related to orders may be performed during or outside these times.
6. Phone & Email
a. We are committed to providing our customers with availability that meets their needs.
While due diligence is among our priorities, it may occur that some factors out of LE RELIEUR's control may affect the transmission of communications, emails, phone calls and/or the processing of orders.
I. If you perform a phone call to LE RELIEUR and you receive no answer, we encourage you to leave us a message and we will do our best to return the call as soon as possible.
II. If you send us an email, we will read and respond as soon as possible.
III. If you have a specific requirement in regards to an order, or for any question, we invite you to call us during open hours at 18739470056 or to send us a message at [email protected] or by replying to an order email. We will remain available to respond as soon as possible.
7. Payments
a. Full payments
I. The buyer assumes responsibility to fulfill a payment for an ordered service in a timely manner. No service will be performed by THE BOOKBINDER if the buyer's financial institution refuses a transaction, if the transaction is declined due to certain limits imposed on the buyer's account or card, or for lack of funds.
The buyer is advised to contact their financial institution in advance if they are aware of such limitations, prior to placing an order, to help avoid problems, and additional delays in processing their order.
LE RELIEUR will not be held responsible of any refusal of the buyer's financial institution to process an order with LE RELIEUR, nor for any delay incurred due to it.
b. Partial/ Split-Payments
I. We optionally offer partial/split-payments for buyers who take a free consultation with THE BOOKBINDER, or those who wish to have this option by requesting it by phone or email.
This method involves the production of a custom invoice and product which will outline the terms of the plan established between LE RELIEUR and the buyer.
II. A first payment is required before LE RELIEUR can work on the ordered service.
III. Partial / Split-Payments must be paid in a timely and responsible manner by the buyer, according to their arrangement with LE RELIEUR.
IV. The total amount due for the ordered service must be paid in full before the buyer can retrieve their ordered service.
c. Failure to pay / Payment issues
I. In the event a buyer uses either the full payment or split payment arrangements, the buyer assumes their responsibility of their arrangement with LE RELIEUR and will perform the payment(s) in a timely manner.
II. A failure to pay / payment issue on the account of the buyer for one or several orders will result in the immediate ceasing of any and all activity related to the order(s) for LE RELIEUR. Le buyer will need to communicate with THE BOOKBINDER their intention and/or a suitable and appropriate solution will be established.
III. If a buyer is unable to perform a payment, they are invited to communicate with THE BOOKBINDER as soon as possible.
THE BOOKBINDER will cease works related to an order immediately until payment issues are resolved. If the issue arises without the buyer's expectation, the buyer assumes responsibility to reach out to THE BOOKBINDER, so that a solution can be established.
IV. If a buyer wishes to cancel the services related to an ongoing order or postpone them, and one of more payments were completed, and the work has already begun, we invite the buyer to contact us as soon as possible to discuss the matter. Thereafter, we will work with the buyer so that a suitable solution can be found and established.
8. Refunds
a. The buyer is only eligible for an refund BEFORE they drop their package at their carrier. We will accept nor process refunds once a buyer's package is shipped, if the ordered service has been started and underway, or once the work is finished, returned to the buyer, and the service has been completed. All sales are final.
9. Returns
a. We accept no returns. If a buyer drops off their package at their carrier and contacts us to cancel an order or request a return, we will not grant the return, as it was the buyer's responsibility to decide to drop off their package. They should request a refund (as outlined above) if they wish to cancel an order, under the outlined conditions. As such, the requested return will not be fulfilled, and the ordered services will continue, as ordered, and as planned, until such time as the ordered service has been completed by THE BOOKBINDER and a package containing the finished product(s) is returned to the buyer.
10. Shipments incurring recipient fees (brokerage fees)
a. Local et International
I. It is a buyer's responsibility to choose adequate shipping methods.
LE RELIEUR will hold the same courtesy.
Any shipment sent to THE BOOKBINDER that incur THE BOOKBINDER any fee such as "brokerage fees" will be sent back to the sender without refunding the buyer's order. The buyer will then need to choose a suitable shipping option that does not charge any fee to the recipient.
Duty and taxes are the only exceptions.
A typical example is the fees incurred by the UPS STANDARD service, which require the recipient to pay a fee before the package can be retrieved. They call this the "brokerage fees"
UPS and other carriers have alternate shipping services that do not incur any fees to the recipient.
11. Damage
a. The buyer is fully responsible for any potential damage to the products contained in his package, or the package itself, whether in transit from the buyer to the recipient (THE BINDER), or from the recipient (THE BINDER) to the buyer.
We therefor encourage buyers to add a shipping insurance with their carrier.
LE RELIEUR will not be held liable for any damage of packages.
12. Loss
a. The buyer assumes full responsibility for a partial or full damage of their package in transit towards THE BOOKBINDER, or from THE BOOKBINDER towards the buyer.
We therefor encourage buyers to add a shipping insurance with their carrier.
LE RELIEUR will not be held liable for any loss of packages.
13. Network / Information Technology issue with the carrier
a. In the event that the local or international carrier's network is affected by technical issues, whether in proximity of the buyer or LE RELIEUR, or if a service outage occurs at the carrier's mail processing system, which results in the loss or damage of a package, LE RELIEUR will not be held liable nor accountable for any such loss or damage if such loss or damage has been caused by the events mentioned herewith.
We therefor encourage buyers to add a shipping insurance with their carrier.
